In addition to her surgical experience, Dr Tharm is one of the rare veterinarians in Singapore to hold a formal training and certification in Animal Hospice and Palliative Care (CHPV®) (www.iaahpc.org) from the American International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care (IAAHPC). This area of practice is especially meaningful and close to her heart, shaped by her own journey caring for her beloved pets.
Her advanced training guides her commitment to providing non-judgemental, ethical, and sustainable end-of-life care and treatments for her palliative and chronically ill patients. She believes that supporting a patient begins with giving the needed attention to listen and empathise with the families and caretakers expectations and challenges, and with that working together to make decisions with clarity and compassion.
Whether in surgery or hospice care, Dr Tharm remains steadfast in her belief that every pet deserves dignity, comfort, and genuine compassion at every stage of life. She strives to honour the unique bond between animals and their families, offering not only medical expertise but also empathy, honesty, and her consistent presence.
